KRON –  The San Jose Sharks will be implementing new security measures beginning at Tuesday night’s game against the Carolina Hurricanes.

The enhanced security measures at all SAP Center entrances will include guests being subject to search that will include the use of electronic devices, pat-downs and inspection of bags.

Officials are asking those attending the game to arrive at least 15 minutes earlier than normal.

These new policies will be in place through the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

I don’t like this, I love it. Keep all the fans that don’t know dick about hockey out and inadvertently make the thing seem more hardcore. Pat downs? What is this the airport or LA unified school district? The SAP center is a soft atmosphere. Yeah it gets loud but the team never fights and it’s not like the crowd is asking for it either. Maybe this makes people more antsy going into the game as opposed to everyone acting all social like the intermission of a high school play.

Other take on this is that it will keep nerds with backpacks out. I’ve been to a lot of games and there will be dudes that full on take out their laptops during games and crank out some e-mails. What the fuck, guy? I know we’re the tech capital of everywhere but let’s not glorify it, Frank. That shit’s gotta go

Here’s my new security measures for the SAP center:

  1. What is icing?
  2. Name 3 former Sharks
  3. Name the commissioner of the league.

If people can’t answer that they don’t belong in the stadium. Boom, problem solved.

P.S. Whenever I am at a Sharks game drinking, 95% of the time I feel like I’m the drunkest guy there. This fanbase needs to step it up.
